Let's Talk About Monarch Butterflies

Let's talk about Monarch Butterflies.

Monarch Butterflies are now an endangered species. According to UrbanBird.org, over the last 20 years, monarch populations have fallen by more than 80 percent.

Why?

Habitat destruction: Urban development and land use changes have replaced vital habitat and food resources Monarchs need to survive.

Pesticide use: Pesticides and the use of chemicals in agriculture are disruptive and often fatal for pollinators, including the delicate Monarch Butterfly.

Climate change: Extreme weather patterns have disrupted migration patterns.

How to help?

  • Plant pollinator-friendly plants in your yard

  • Say no to pesticides and chemicals when gardening

  • Avoid GMO foods

  • Raise awareness! (Share this post with your friends).
